Founded in 2010, NYC Media Lab is dedicated to driving innovation and ultimately job growth in media and technology by facilitating collaboration between the Citys universities and its companies. Launched by a consortium led by the New York City Economic Development Corporation, New York University, and Columbia University, NYC Media Lab's goals include generating research and development, knowledge transfer, and talent development across all of the Citys campuses.The Lab is built on corporate membership. Current member companies include AT&T, ESPN, HBO, Hearst, NBCUniversal, Publicis Groupe, News Corp, Time Warner Cable, and Verizon. Member companies participate in roundtable events on technology issues such as big data and emerging interfaces; connect with one another and with faculty, students, and other university resources; and direct seed research projects on areas of interest to them. Companies choose between three levels of membership; more information can be found here.Seed projects take a variety of forms. For instance, Verizon recently crafted a project analyzing adaptive streaming video services with a team of electrical engineers at NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering. Hearst partnered with a team of design & technology MFA students at Parsons the New School to generate prototype mobile apps. Time Warner Cable teamed up with a computer scientist at NYU School of Engineering to get a view on how various computing trends will affect home bandwidth requirement scenarios in the future. Access to financing for operations and expansions is especially important for minority business stability and growth. Meda’s business loan program is designed to help clients find access to much-needed funding, which otherwise might not be available through traditional lending resources. Meda consultants can assist clients in developing a loan package to present to potential funders, which may or may not include the Meda loan program. Every circumstance is different and, accordingly, we try to source the very best rates and terms for all our clients. Businesses must be owned and controlled by entrepreneurs of color. Loan clients are encouraged to work with Meda business consultants. The program works in participation with your existing bank. Minimum loan amount is $25,000. Loans of more than $400,000 require a higher bank participation. Meda business loan proceeds can be used for: Working capital, lines of credit, business equipment, franchise fees, build-out, business acquisition, project financing

In addition to facilitating the growth and development of early stage technology companies, The Tech Garden offers its facilities to the public for use for meetings, conferences, and social gatherings.The Tech Garden is home to the CleanTech Center and Syracuse Student Sandbox.Additionally, they host the TechExpo, pre-seed workshops, and the Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program (SATOP). We are a community committed to changing the world.The Accelerator welcomes creative entrepreneurs from throughout NYC. By becoming a member of the BF+DA you get access to the resources you need to produce and prototype your products. We provide traditional apparel production for runs from one to one hundred units. Our digital fabrication lab includes laser cutters and 3D printers and a lab for textile innovation that includes a textile printer, knitting machines and an extensive samples library. We offer showroom space, retail space, conference rooms and 30 onsite studio spaces equipped for fashion, accessory, product and media designers.
